When Westfield started planning it’s latest most premium centre on pitt street, espionage jumped at the chance to push the boundaries. We worked alongside architectural firm facet studio, to develop a concept store and bring it to reality. The concept for the project was “Sneakerology”; a scientific study of sneaker culture. Sneakers were placed in over 400 numbered light boxes which could be browsed via touch-screens in the store.
During this year-long project, we were involved in all aspects of the store’s creation. Among our tasks were designing the store’s branding and visual identity and creating the interactive application to be implemented on the touch screens. Finally, at the 11th hour, we were called upon to create a mural for the store’s art wall. It was a huge project, and one that we are all immensely proud of. Sneakerology appeared on the cover of monument magazine’s august/september issue 2011.
