For Bag Raiders 2019 tour, we wanted to challenge ourselves and direct a stage design that would be in partnership with the music and crowd. We developed a stage that elevated the artists on their risers with sets of uprights to flow from the screen to the floor. Ultimately, the stage involved a main screen, 28 LED uprights and 6 custom-made LED screens that attached to the risers. In this project we approached the visuals as a reactive representation of the melodies and rhythms of the music, having looping animations across all three media. Graphical and colour choice was pulled and interpreted from the ‘Horizons’ album art to keep a consistent style and palette across the setlist. Pixel-mapping and technical integration was handled in collaboration with Bad Idea Factory.
