Infrared Ambience

Infrared Ambience (Part 1 and 2) are a surreal, meditative and personal portrait of the natural world surrounding experimental image maker, Billy Ryan’s (Babekuhl), birthplace on Australia’s east coast. Through the use of full spectrum camera technology, Ryan aims to explore the unseen – depicting the coastal landscape and adjacent bushland through wavelengths which are invisible to the human eye. This technology-enhanced perspective is hypnotic and alluring, an environment that feels both intensely hype-real and instantly familiar.
